The brand already had a solid foundation in place: a Progressive Web App built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, developed in close collaboration between LolaLiza's in-house team and our trusted partner Forward. Building a full mobile app from scratch was therefore not necessary. What LolaLiza did need was a smooth way to turn that existing web experience into a proper native app, without reinventing everything and without taking on two separate codebases to maintain.

Approach Buzzworks developed a native mobile wrapper around LolaLiza's existing PWA. This kept the web app at the heart of the experience, while the wrapper added all the native functionality users expect from a mobile app. We deliberately chose React Native, because LolaLiza's team was already well-versed in the React ecosystem. That kept the learning curve low and allowed the team to continue building independently after delivery.

The wrapper was rolled out for both iOS and Android from a single shared codebase. No separate native tracks, no double maintenance.

Solutions We delivered a native wrapper app based on React Native, released on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The solution supports native push notifications for timely customer engagement, deep linking for smooth navigation from other channels, and app-exclusive promotions to encourage mobile usage.

Knowledge transfer was built in from the start. After the initial release in August 2024, LolaLiza's team took over maintenance independently and evolved the app on their own for nearly a year. When more complex iOS challenges surfaced later on, LolaLiza brought us back in for targeted advice and fast resolution.

Result LolaLiza now has a full presence in the major app stores, without duplicate codebases or double maintenance. The mobile experience builds directly on the existing PWA and adds the benefits of a native app on top. The internal team was able to take ownership quickly, and for specific challenges Buzzworks remains available as a partner. Christophe Gregoire, Director of IT at LolaLiza, confirmed the value of the collaboration: the team got up to speed quickly, understood the iOS issues and resolved them effectively.
